Competencies

In May 2008, I became the Pastor of the Houston Haitian Seventh-day Adventist Church. This small, 63 members church faced many organizational and leadership challenges. Problem between members of different tendencies, struggles for the leadership of the church prevented the development of this Christian community. My arrival as Pastor in this church inspired hope. Because if there was not a new dynamism in the leadership of this church, it would be in danger of extinction. With the Lord helping, I developed a five-year strategic plan where evangelism was the basis. I structured the existing departments while adding those that did not exist. Church programs have become attractive and interesting to the point of seeing a large increase in membership year after year. Today with around 250 members, the building that houses the church has become too small. The church is obliged to find a larger space. The attraction is such that the members opted to purchase a three million dollars building. Development therefore involves innovation projects which can obviously involve risks. But once successful, we will see great results that will contribute to the development of our institutions.
