In this magnificent doctoral program in business administration from the University of Montemorelos, we were subjected, in theory and in practice, to very different cultural notions. Having Creole and French as mother tongue and instruction, I had to learn English to exercise my professional life in the USA where I currently live. But when I learned that learning Spanish was compulsory in this program, I was very happy. Even though I’m not fluent in Spanish today, I can still say words that allow me to have short conversations with friends who only speak Spanish. I must obviously continue to make efforts to learn this wonderful language. However, thanks to this doctoral program, I was able to make a good start for a fourth language.
